Maupas 2.0 Project
This project had good bones, but it was definitely ready for a fresh start. This is a special one because we could see our first Maupas Project just across the street, two doors down. We loved getting drop-ins from the owners of that project and getting to know some of the other neighbors during the renovation process.
We are firm believers that a home doesn't have to be brand new to be beautiful—it just needs a little love, thoughtful choices, and a whole lot of patience.
The goal with this project was to bring the home back to life while keeping the character and charm that made it special in the first place. We wanted classic choices, timeless finishes, and a home that would feel beautiful for years to come-not just for the current trend. We also kept it so the new homeowner can add their own style with wallpaper, artwork, and personal touches.
When we started, this almost 100-year-old home had four bedrooms, just one-and-a-half bathrooms, no true master ensuite, and no central heating or air conditioning.
When we finished, it still had the same four bedrooms-but now with two-and-a-half bathrooms, including a true master ensuite, and, of course, the comfort of central heating and air conditioning. Plus indoor laundry and so much more! A whole lot of character with a little modern convenience.
We kept all 4 fireplaces original, including the tile surrounds. Kept all the original millwork, solid wood doors, and door hardware. Still sad we couldn't salvage any of the wallpaper. We found old windows from Repurpose Savannah to add to the already enclosed sunroom downstairs that needed a major revamp to make it feel like it had been a part of the home all along.
